The worst roundabout culprits I find, are the ones going straight on (i.e. blue car) carrying too much speed. Their speed causes them to 'flatten out' the roundabout, cutting through its lanes as they go.
You could learn so much from an Advanced Driving Course, but there again you’d know so much more than the person trying teach you.

We live near Eccleston off a mini roundabout and Lancs Council are about to introduce four more within a mile - I expect chaos. Many drivers seem to ignore these mini roundabouts

As per Justbecause, I used to teach advanced driving with the IAM, (both cars and bikes, although you wouldn’t have known by my earlier comments!).

Straightening a roundabout, providing you plan for what else is there, is actually safer as there is less steering input required.

I could come on here as others do, bragging about my driving. About how I've been at the wheel for best part of half a century, or about the mileage I've driven abroad, or how the only insurance claims I've ever had to make in all that time have been due break-ins/theft from my vehicle, or that I have a 100% clean license, or that I drive alcohol/drug-free, or that back in the day I took the LGV test and have driven artics, etc, etc. But I'm not in the business of claiming to be the worlds best driver, so I won't do that.

One thing I have learnt in all that time spent on the road. Is despite accruing such extensive experience, it never pays to let your guard down, not even for a second. Because just when you think you've seen it all - a situation never encountered before, will be waiting just around the next corner.

You'd have to be absolutely certain nothing else was on it/entering it before doing so......Mirrors (even on cars) aren't foolproof, there can be blind-spots where say, a narrow object like a fast-approaching biker from the rear may occasionally be missed. The human eye also isn't totally foolproof, as the retina has a blind-spot where the optic nerve connects, which is why they say 'look twice - look bike'.

At end of day, a speed-merchant may get away with flattening out a hundred roundabouts at speed. But imo, it's always going to be a calculated risk and if he ever comes unstuck making that move, he'll soon know about it.
